# §9808. Assignments of intergovernmental personnel


For purposes of applying the third sentence of [section 3372(a)](/usc/5/3372.md?p=a) (relating to the [authority](/usc/5/7103.md?p=a-6) of the head of a Federal [agency](/usc/5/3132.md?p=a-1) to extend the period of an [employee](/usc/5/4701.md?p=a-2)’s assignment to or from a [State](/usc/5/8521.md?p=a-3) or local [government](/usc/5/4101.md?p=3), institution of higher education, or other organization), the [Administrator](/usc/5/9801.md?p=2) may, with the concurrence of the [employee](/usc/5/4701.md?p=a-2) and the [government](/usc/5/4101.md?p=3) or organization concerned, take any action which would be allowable if such sentence had been amended by striking “two” and inserting “four”.
