# §8990. Studies, reports, and audits

- (a) Each contract shall contain provisions requiring the [qualified company](/usc/5/8951.md?p=5) to—
  - (1) furnish such reasonable reports as the [Office](/usc/5/5402.md?p=3) determines to be necessary to enable it to carry out its functions under this chapter; and
  - (2) permit the [Office](/usc/5/5402.md?p=3) and representatives of the [Government](/usc/5/4101.md?p=3) Accountability [Office](/usc/5/5402.md?p=3) to examine such records of the [qualified company](/usc/5/8951.md?p=5) as may be necessary to carry out the purposes of this chapter.
- (b) Each Federal [agency](/usc/5/3132.md?p=a-1) shall keep such records, make such certifications, and furnish the [Office](/usc/5/5402.md?p=3), the [qualified company](/usc/5/8951.md?p=5), or both, with such information and reports as the [Office](/usc/5/5402.md?p=3) may require.
- (c) The [Office](/usc/5/5402.md?p=3) shall conduct periodic reviews of plans under this chapter, including a comparison of the vision benefits available under [chapter 89](/usc/5/chptIII/sptG/ch89.md), to ensure the competitiveness of plans under this chapter. The [Office](/usc/5/5402.md?p=3) shall cooperate with the [Government](/usc/5/4101.md?p=3) Accountability [Office](/usc/5/5402.md?p=3) to provide periodic evaluations of the program.
