# §8508. Regulations


The [Secretary](/usc/5/9901.md?p=2) of Labor may prescribe rules and regulations necessary to carry out this subchapter and subchapter II of this chapter. The [Secretary](/usc/5/9901.md?p=2), insofar as practicable, shall consult with representatives of the [State](/usc/5/8501.md?p=6) unemployment [compensation](/usc/5/8501.md?p=4) [agencies](/usc/5/3132.md?p=a-1) before prescribing rules or regulations which may affect the performance by the [State](/usc/5/8501.md?p=6) [agencies](/usc/5/3132.md?p=a-1) of functions under agreements under this subchapter.
