# §8144. Student-employees


A [student](/usc/5/8101.md?p=17)-[employee](/usc/5/8101.md?p=1) as defined by [section 5351 of this title](/usc/5/5351.md) who suffers disability or death as a result of personal [injury](/usc/5/8101.md?p=5) arising out of and in the course of [training](/usc/5/4101.md?p=4), or incurred in the performance of duties in connection with that [training](/usc/5/4101.md?p=4), is considered for the purpose of this subchapter an [employee](/usc/5/8101.md?p=1) who incurred the [injury](/usc/5/8101.md?p=5) in the performance of duty.
