# §5709. Air evacuation patients: furnished subsistence


Notwithstanding any other provision of law, and under regulations prescribed under [section 5707 of this title](/usc/5/5707.md), an [employee](/usc/5/5701.md?p=2) and his [dependents](/usc/5/8951.md?p=2) may be furnished [subsistence](/usc/5/5701.md?p=3) without charge while being evacuated as a patient by military aircraft of the [United States](/usc/5/7103.md?p=a-18).
