# §5706. Allowable travel expenses


Except as otherwise permitted by this subchapter or by statutes relating to [members](/usc/5/8401.md?p=20) of the uniformed [services](/usc/5/8401.md?p=26), only actual and necessary travel expenses may be allowed to an individual holding employment or appointment under the [United States](/usc/5/7103.md?p=a-18).
