# §5524. Review of accounts


The [head of each agency](/usc/5/5521.md?p=3) shall provide for—

- (1) the review of the [account](/usc/5/8401.md?p=1) of each [employee](/usc/5/5521.md?p=2) of the [agency](/usc/5/5521.md?p=1) in receipt of payments under section [5522](/usc/5/5522.md) or [5523](/usc/5/5523.md) of this title, or both, as the case may be; and
- (2) the adjustment of the amounts of the payments on the basis of—
  - (A) the rates of [pay](/usc/5/7511.md?p=a-4), allowances, and differentials to which the [employee](/usc/5/5521.md?p=2) would have been entitled under applicable statute other than this subchapter for the respective periods covered by the payments, if he had performed [active service](/usc/5/3501.md?p=a-1) under the terms of his appointment during each period in the [position](/usc/5/5102.md?p=a-3) he held immediately before the issuance of the applicable evacuation order; and
  - (B) such additional amounts as the [employee](/usc/5/5521.md?p=2) is authorized to receive in accordance with a determination of the President under [section 5523(b) of this title](/usc/5/5523.md?p=b).
