# §5506. Computation of extra pay based on standard or daylight saving time


When an [employee](/usc/5/4701.md?p=a-2) as defined by [section 2105 of this title](/usc/5/2105.md) or an individual employed by the [government](/usc/5/4101.md?p=3) of the District of Columbia is entitled to extra [pay](/usc/5/7511.md?p=a-4) for [services](/usc/5/8401.md?p=26) performed between or after certain named hours of the day or night, the extra [pay](/usc/5/7511.md?p=a-4) is computed on the basis of either standard or daylight saving time, depending on the time observed by law, custom, or practice where the [services](/usc/5/8401.md?p=26) are performed.
