# §3349b. Holdover provisions


Sections [3345](/usc/5/3345.md) through [3349a](/usc/5/3349a.md) shall not be construed to affect any statute that authorizes a [person](/usc/5/7103.md?p=a-1) to continue to serve in any [office](/usc/5/5402.md?p=3)—

- (1) after the expiration of the term for which such [person](/usc/5/7103.md?p=a-1) is appointed; and
- (2) until a successor is appointed or a specified period of time has expired.
