# §3330g. DOD use of shared talent pools and structured assessments

- (a) **Shared Talent Pools.—** The [Department](/usc/5/10101.md?p=4) of Defense may share certificates of [eligibles](/usc/5/4701.md?p=a-3) and curated prospect pools within the [Department](/usc/5/10101.md?p=4). Certificates issued under this [authority](/usc/5/7103.md?p=a-6) shall remain valid for not less than one year from the date of issuance, subject to [agency](/usc/5/3132.md?p=a-1)-specific qualification checks.
- (b) **Structured Assessments.—** The [Department](/usc/5/10101.md?p=4) of Defense shall use validated structured interviews, technical evaluations, or other skills-based assessments as part of the hiring process for competitive [service](/usc/5/8401.md?p=26) [positions](/usc/5/5102.md?p=a-3) at the [Department](/usc/5/10101.md?p=4), in accordance with regulations prescribed by the [Office](/usc/5/5402.md?p=3) of Personnel Management.
