# §5908. Relationship to other laws


Nothing in this chapter affects—

- (1) [chapter 51](/usc/49/chstIII/ch51.md) (relating to transportation of [hazardous material](/usc/49/5102.md?p=2)) or the [regulations](/usc/49/5302.md?p=16) promulgated under that chapter; or
- (2) any [State](/usc/49/5102.md?p=12) highway weight or size law or [regulation](/usc/49/5302.md?p=16) applicable to tractor-[trailer](/usc/49/5901.md?p=8) combinations.
