# §44931. Authority to exempt


The Secretary of Homeland Security may grant an exemption from a regulation prescribed in carrying out sections [44901](/usc/49/44901.md), [44903](/usc/49/44903.md), [44906](/usc/49/44906.md), [44909(c)](/usc/49/44909.md?p=c), and 44935–44937 of this title when the Secretary decides the exemption is in the public interest.
