# §32915. Appealing civil penalties


Any interested person may appeal a decision of the Secretary of Transportation to impose a civil penalty under [section 32912(a)](/usc/49/32912.md?p=a) or (b) of this title, or of the Federal Trade Commission under [section 32913(b)(1) of this title](/usc/49/32913.md?p=b-1), in the [United States](/usc/49/31301.md?p=15) Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit or in the court of appeals of the [United States](/usc/49/31301.md?p=15) for the circuit in which the person resides or has its principal place of business. A person appealing a decision must file a notice of appeal with the court not later than 30 days after the decision and, at the same time, send a copy of the notice by certified mail to the Secretary or the Commission. The Secretary or the Commission promptly shall file with the court a certified copy of the record of the proceeding in which the decision was made.
