# §31145. Coordination of Governmental activities and paperwork


The Secretary of Transportation shall coordinate the activities of departments, agencies, and instrumentalities of the [United States](/usc/49/31132.md?p=11) Government to ensure adequate protection of the safety and health of [operators](/usc/49/30501.md?p=6) of [commercial motor vehicles](/usc/49/31101.md?p=1). The Secretary shall attempt to minimize paperwork burdens to ensure maximum coordination and to avoid overlap and the imposition of unreasonable burdens on persons subject to [regulations](/usc/49/31132.md?p=7) under this subchapter.
