# §30303. State participation

- (a) **Notification.—** A [State](/usc/49/30102.md?p=a-12) may become a [participating State](/usc/49/30301.md?p=6) under this chapter by notifying the Secretary of Transportation of its intention to be bound by [section 30304 of this title](/usc/49/30304.md).
- (b) **Withdrawal.—** A [participating State](/usc/49/30301.md?p=6) may end its status as a [participating State](/usc/49/30301.md?p=6) by notifying the Secretary of its withdrawal from participation in the National Driver Register.
- (c) **Form and Way of Notification.—** Notification by a [State](/usc/49/30102.md?p=a-12) under this section shall be made in the form and way the Secretary prescribes by regulation.
