# §20147. Warning of civil liability


The [Secretary](/usc/49/22401.md?p=14) of Transportation shall encourage [railroad carriers](/usc/49/20102.md?p=3) to warn the public about potential liability for violation of regulations related to vandalism of [railroad](/usc/49/22401.md?p=12) signs, devices, and equipment and to trespassing on [railroad](/usc/49/22401.md?p=12) property.
