# §37. Violations; punishment


Whoever knowingly commits, instigates, or assists in any act forbidden by [section 34 of this title](/usc/47/34.md) shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be fined not more than $5,000, or imprisoned for not more than one year, or both.
