# §58105. Preferences for cargo in which charterer has interest


A [contractor](/usc/46/53101.md?p=2) receiving an operating-differential subsidy, or a charterer under [chapter 575](/usc/46/chstV/ptF/ch575.md) of this title, may not unjustly discriminate in any manner so as to give preference, directly or indirectly, to [cargo](/usc/46/53901.md?p=2) in which the [contractor](/usc/46/53101.md?p=2) or charterer has a direct or indirect ownership, purchase, or vending interest.
