# §56312. Documented defined


In sections [56309](/usc/46/56309.md) through [56311](/usc/46/56311.md), the term “documented” means, with respect to a [vessel](/usc/46/53501.md?p=9), that a certificate of documentation has been issued for the [vessel](/usc/46/53501.md?p=9) under chapter 121.
