# §55333. Exemption from restriction on transporting certain cargo


The 3-year documentation requirement of [section 55305(a) of this title](/usc/46/55305.md?p=a) does not apply to a [vessel](/usc/46/53501.md?p=9) designated as an [American Great Lakes vessel](/usc/46/55331.md?p=1) during the period of its designation.
