# §51308. Uniforms, textbooks, and transportation allowances


The [Secretary](/usc/46/53101.md?p=8) of Transportation shall provide cadets at the [United States](/usc/46/53101.md?p=10) Merchant Marine [Academy](/usc/46/51102.md?p=1)—

- (1) all required uniforms and textbooks; and
- (2) allowances for transportation (including reimbursement of traveling expenses) when traveling under orders as a cadet.
