# §231p. Free transportation


It shall not be unlawful for carriers by railroad subject to this subchapter to furnish free transportation to individuals receiving [annuities](/usc/45/231.md?p=p) under this subchapter in the same manner as such transportation is furnished to [employees](/usc/45/231.md?p=b-1) in their service.
