# §3611. Independent assessment


The [Administrator](/usc/44/3601.md?p=1) may determine whether [FedRAMP](/usc/44/3607.md?p=b-6) may use an [independent assessment service](/usc/44/3607.md?p=b-10) to analyze, validate, and attest to the quality and compliance of security assessment materials provided by [cloud service providers](/usc/44/3607.md?p=b-5) during the course of a determination of whether to use a [cloud computing](/usc/44/3607.md?p=b-4) product or service.
