# §49. Extension of cooperative work to Puerto Rico


The provisions of law authorizing the making of topographic and geological [surveys](/usc/43/31b.md?p=10) and conducting investigations relating to mineral and water resources by the United States Geological [Survey](/usc/43/31b.md?p=10) in various portions of the United States be, and the same are, extended to authorize such [surveys](/usc/43/31b.md?p=10) and investigations in Puerto Rico.
