# §9818. Coordination and eligibility

- (a) The [Secretary](/usc/42/242q–4.md?p=2) shall take all necessary and appropriate steps to encourage Federal departments and [agencies](/usc/42/8262.md?p=1) and [State](/usc/42/2021b.md?p=14) and local governments to make grants, provide technical assistance, enter into contracts, and generally support and cooperate with community development [corporations](/usc/42/2297h.md?p=2) and local cooperative associations.
- (b) Eligibility for assistance under other Federal programs shall not be denied to any applicant on the ground that it is a community development [corporation](/usc/42/2297h.md?p=2) or any other entity assisted under this subchapter.
