# §9813. Model Community Economic Development Finance Corporation; establishment; functions


To the extent he deems appropriate, the [Secretary](/usc/42/242q–4.md?p=2) shall utilize funds available under this part to prepare a plan of action for the establishment of a Model Community Economic Development Finance [Corporation](/usc/42/2297h.md?p=2) to provide a user-controlled independent and professionally operated long-term financing vehicle with the principal purpose of providing financial support for community economic development [corporations](/usc/42/2297h.md?p=2), cooperatives, other affiliated and supportive [agencies](/usc/42/8262.md?p=1) and organizations associated with community economic development [corporations](/usc/42/2297h.md?p=2), and other entities eligible for assistance under this subchapter.
