# §7232. Senior positions


In addition to those positions created by subchapter II of this chapter, there shall be within the Department fourteen additional officers in positions authorized by [section 5316 of title 5](/usc/5/5316.md) who shall be appointed by the [Secretary](/usc/42/7385s.md?p=3) and who shall perform such functions as the [Secretary](/usc/42/7385s.md?p=3) shall prescribe from time to time.
