# §7144a. Establishment of security, counterintelligence, and intelligence policies


The [Secretary](/usc/42/7385s.md?p=3) shall be responsible for developing and promulgating the security, counterintelligence, and intelligence policies of the Department. The [Secretary](/usc/42/7385s.md?p=3) may use the immediate staff of the [Secretary](/usc/42/7385s.md?p=3) to assist in developing and promulgating those policies.
