# §6804. Funding, administrative, and judicial authorities of Secretary


The [Secretary](/usc/42/6802.md?p=1) may—

- (1) fund (A) demonstration [projects](/usc/42/13641.md?p=2) to improve [electric utility](/usc/42/6802.md?p=2) load management procedures and (B) regulatory rate reform initiatives,
- (2) on request of a [State](/usc/42/6802.md?p=6), a [utility regulatory commission](/usc/42/6802.md?p=7), or of any participant in any proceeding before a [State utility regulatory commission](/usc/42/6802.md?p=5) which relates to [electric utility](/usc/42/6802.md?p=2) rates or rate design, intervene and participate in such proceeding, and
- (3) on request of any [State](/usc/42/6802.md?p=6), [utility regulatory commission](/usc/42/6802.md?p=7), or party to any action to obtain judicial review of an administrative proceeding in which the [Secretary](/usc/42/6802.md?p=1) intervened or participated under [paragraph (2)](#2), intervene and participate in such action.
