# §5418. Use of services, research and testing facilities of public agencies and independent laboratories


The [Secretary](/usc/42/5402.md?p=11), in exercising the authority under this chapter, shall utilize the services, research and testing facilities of [public agencies](/usc/42/11851.md?p=8) and independent testing laboratories to the maximum extent practicable in order to avoid duplication.
