# §5063. Reduction of paperwork


In order to reduce unnecessary, duplicative, or disruptive demands for information, the [Director](/usc/42/5061.md?p=1), in consultation with other appropriate [agencies](/usc/42/8262.md?p=1) and organizations, shall continually review and evaluate all requests for information made under this chapter and take such action as may be necessary to reduce the paperwork required under this chapter. The [Director](/usc/42/5061.md?p=1) shall request only such information as the [Director](/usc/42/5061.md?p=1) deems essential to carry out the purposes and provisions of this chapter.
