# §4727. Interstate compacts


The consent of the Congress is hereby given to any two or more [States](/usc/42/4762.md?p=3) to enter into [compacts](/usc/42/2021b.md?p=4) or other agreements, not in conflict with any law of the United States, for cooperative efforts and mutual assistance (including the establishment of appropriate [agencies](/usc/42/8262.md?p=1)) in connection with the development and administration of personnel and training programs for employees and officials of [State](/usc/42/4762.md?p=3) and [local governments](/usc/42/4762.md?p=4).
