# §4346. Tenure and compensation of members


Members of the [Council](/usc/42/4336e.md?p=3) shall serve full time and the Chairman of the [Council](/usc/42/4336e.md?p=3) shall be compensated at the rate provided for Level II of the Executive Schedule Pay Rates ([5 U.S.C. 5313](/usc/5/5313.md)). The other members of the [Council](/usc/42/4336e.md?p=3) shall be compensated at the rate provided for Level IV or[^1] the Executive Schedule Pay Rates ([5 U.S.C. 5315](/usc/5/5315.md)).
