# §4031. Treatment of certain payments


Assistance provided under a program under this chapter for [flood](/usc/42/4121.md?p=a-1) mitigation activities (including any assistance provided under the mitigation pilot program under [section 4102a](/usc/42/4102a.md)[^1] of this title, any assistance provided under the mitigation assistance program under [section 4104c of this title](/usc/42/4104c.md), and any funding provided under [section 4030](/usc/42/4030.md)[^1] of this title) with respect to a property shall not be considered income or a resource of the [owner](/usc/42/13641.md?p=4) of the property when determining eligibility for or benefit levels under any income assistance or resource-tested program that is funded in whole or in part by an [agency](/usc/42/8262.md?p=1) of the [United States](/usc/42/4121.md?p=a-2) or by appropriated funds of the [United States](/usc/42/4121.md?p=a-2).
