# §3194. Administration, operation, and maintenance


The [Secretary](/usc/42/3122.md?p=13) shall approve Federal assistance under this chapter only if the [Secretary](/usc/42/3122.md?p=13) is satisfied that the [project](/usc/42/13641.md?p=2) for which Federal assistance is granted will be properly and efficiently administered, operated, and maintained.
