# §3057f. Surplus educational facilities

- (a) **Multipurpose senior centers—** Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the [Secretary](/usc/42/3002.md?p=46) of the Interior through the Bureau of [Indian](/usc/42/3002.md?p=26) Affairs shall make available surplus [Indian](/usc/42/3002.md?p=26) educational facilities to [tribal organizations](/usc/42/3002.md?p=56), and [nonprofit](/usc/42/3002.md?p=39) organizations with tribal approval, for use as [multipurpose senior centers](/usc/42/3002.md?p=36). Such centers may be altered so as to provide extended care facilities, community center facilities, nutrition services, [child](/usc/42/3030s.md?p=a-2) care services, and other [supportive services](/usc/42/3056p.md?p=a-8).
- (b) **Applications; submission; contents—** Each eligible [tribal organization](/usc/42/3002.md?p=56) desiring to take advantage of such surplus facilities shall submit an application to the [Secretary](/usc/42/3002.md?p=46) of the Interior at such time and in such manner, and containing or accompanied by such information, as the [Secretary](/usc/42/3002.md?p=46) of the Interior determines to be necessary to carry out the provisions of this section.
