# §300z–6. Coordination of programs

- (a) The [Secretary](/usc/42/201.md?p=c) shall coordinate Federal policies and [programs](/usc/42/274l–1.md?p=4) providing [services](/usc/42/201.md?p=a) relating to the prevention of [adolescent](/usc/42/300z–1.md?p=a-9) sexual relations and initial and recurrent [adolescent](/usc/42/300z–1.md?p=a-9) pregnancies and providing [care services](/usc/42/300z–1.md?p=a-7) for pregnant [adolescents](/usc/42/300z–1.md?p=a-9). In achieving such coordination, the [Secretary](/usc/42/201.md?p=c) shall—
  - (1) require grantees who receive funds for demonstration [projects](/usc/42/13641.md?p=2) for [services](/usc/42/201.md?p=a) under this subchapter to report periodically to the [Secretary](/usc/42/201.md?p=c) concerning Federal, [State](/usc/42/201.md?p=f), and local policies and [programs](/usc/42/274l–1.md?p=4) that interfere with the delivery of and coordination of pregnancy [prevention services](/usc/42/300z–1.md?p=a-8) and other [programs](/usc/42/274l–1.md?p=4) of care for pregnant [adolescents](/usc/42/300z–1.md?p=a-9) and [adolescent](/usc/42/300z–1.md?p=a-9) parents;
  - (2) provide technical assistance to facilitate coordination by [State](/usc/42/201.md?p=f) and local recipients of Federal assistance;
  - (3) review all [programs](/usc/42/274l–1.md?p=4) administered by the Department of Health and Human [Services](/usc/42/201.md?p=a) which provide [prevention services](/usc/42/300z–1.md?p=a-8) or [care services](/usc/42/300z–1.md?p=a-7) to determine if the policies of such [programs](/usc/42/274l–1.md?p=4) are consistent with the policies of this subchapter, consult with other departments and [agencies](/usc/42/8262.md?p=1) of the Federal Government who administer [programs](/usc/42/274l–1.md?p=4) that provide such [services](/usc/42/201.md?p=a), and encourage such other departments and [agencies](/usc/42/8262.md?p=1) to make recommendations, as appropriate, for legislation to modify such [programs](/usc/42/274l–1.md?p=4) in order to facilitate the use of all Government [programs](/usc/42/274l–1.md?p=4) which provide such [services](/usc/42/201.md?p=a) as a basis for delivery of more comprehensive [prevention services](/usc/42/300z–1.md?p=a-8) and more comprehensive [programs](/usc/42/274l–1.md?p=4) of care for pregnant [adolescents](/usc/42/300z–1.md?p=a-9) and [adolescent](/usc/42/300z–1.md?p=a-9) parents;
  - (4) give priority in the provision of funds, where appropriate, to applicants using single or coordinated grant applications for multiple [programs](/usc/42/274l–1.md?p=4); and
  - (5) give priority, where appropriate, to the provision of funds under Federal [programs](/usc/42/274l–1.md?p=4) administered by the [Secretary](/usc/42/201.md?p=c) (other than the [program](/usc/42/274l–1.md?p=4) established by this subchapter) to [projects](/usc/42/13641.md?p=2) providing comprehensive [prevention services](/usc/42/300z–1.md?p=a-8) and comprehensive [programs](/usc/42/274l–1.md?p=4) of care for pregnant [adolescents](/usc/42/300z–1.md?p=a-9) and [adolescent](/usc/42/300z–1.md?p=a-9) parents.
- (b) Any recipient of a grant for a demonstration [project](/usc/42/13641.md?p=2) for [services](/usc/42/201.md?p=a) under this subchapter shall coordinate its activities with any other recipient of such a grant which is located in the same locality.
