# §300ii–2. National lifespan respite resource center

- (a) **Establishment—** The [Secretary](/usc/42/201.md?p=c) may award a grant or cooperative agreement to a public or private [nonprofit](/usc/42/300s–3.md?p=3) entity to establish a National Resource Center on [Lifespan Respite Care](/usc/42/300ii.md?p=6) (referred to in this section as the “center”).
- (b) **Purposes of the center—** The center shall—
  - (1) maintain a national database on [lifespan respite care](/usc/42/300ii.md?p=6);
  - (2) provide training and technical assistance to [State](/usc/42/300ii.md?p=8), community, and [nonprofit](/usc/42/300s–3.md?p=3) [respite care](/usc/42/300ii.md?p=7) [programs](/usc/42/274l–1.md?p=4); and
  - (3) provide information, referral, and educational [programs](/usc/42/274l–1.md?p=4) to the public on [lifespan respite care](/usc/42/300ii.md?p=6).
