# §300gg–95. Uniform fraud and abuse referral format


The [Secretary](/usc/42/201.md?p=c) shall request the National Association of Insurance Commissioners to develop a model uniform report form for private [health insurance issuer](/usc/42/300gg–91.md?p=b-2)[^1] seeking to refer suspected fraud and abuse to [State](/usc/42/201.md?p=f) insurance departments or other responsible [State agencies](/usc/42/300s–3.md?p=12) for investigation. The [Secretary](/usc/42/201.md?p=c) shall request that the National Association of Insurance Commissioners develop recommendations for uniform reporting standards for such referrals.
