# §300ff–139. Injunctions regarding violation of prohibition

- (a) **In general—** The [Secretary](/usc/42/201.md?p=c) may, in any court of competent jurisdiction, commence a civil action for the purpose of obtaining temporary or permanent injunctive relief with respect to any [violation](/usc/42/2000e–16a.md?p=c) of this part.
- (b) **Facilitation of information on violations—** The [Secretary](/usc/42/201.md?p=c) shall establish an administrative process for encouraging emergency response [employees](/usc/42/300gg–91.md?p=d-5) to provide information to the [Secretary](/usc/42/201.md?p=c) regarding [violations](/usc/42/2000e–16a.md?p=c) of this part. As appropriate, the [Secretary](/usc/42/201.md?p=c) shall investigate alleged such[^1] [violations](/usc/42/2000e–16a.md?p=c) and seek appropriate injunctive relief.
