# §300ee–34. Authorization of appropriations

- (a) **In general—** For the purpose of carrying out sections [300ee–31](/usc/42/300ee–31.md) through [300ee–33](/usc/42/300ee–33.md) of this title, there are authorized to be appropriated $105,000,000 for fiscal year 1989 and such sums as may be necessary for each of the fiscal years 1990 and 1991.
- (b) **Allocations—**
  - (1) Of the amounts appropriated pursuant to [subsection (a)](#a), the [Secretary](/usc/42/201.md?p=c) shall make available $45,000,000 to carry out [section 300ee–32 of this title](/usc/42/300ee–32.md) and $30,000,000 to carry out this part through financial assistance to minority entities for the provision of [services](/usc/42/201.md?p=a) to minority populations.
  - (2) After consultation with the [Director](/usc/42/11851.md?p=5) of the Office of Minority Health and with the Indian Health [Service](/usc/42/201.md?p=a), the [Secretary](/usc/42/201.md?p=c), acting through the [Director](/usc/42/11851.md?p=5) of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, shall, not later than 90 days after November 4, 1988, publish guidelines to provide procedures for applications for funding pursuant to [paragraph (1)](#b-1) and for public comment.
