# §285g–3. Associate Director for Prevention; appointment; function


There shall be in the Institute an Associate [Director](/usc/42/11851.md?p=5) for Prevention to coordinate and promote the [programs](/usc/42/274l–1.md?p=4) in the Institute concerning the prevention of health problems of mothers and children. The Associate [Director](/usc/42/11851.md?p=5) shall be appointed by the [Director](/usc/42/11851.md?p=5) of the Institute from individuals who because of their professional training or experience are experts in public health or preventive medicine.
