# §285d–8. Juvenile arthritis and related conditions

- (a) **Expansion and coordination of activities—** The [Director](/usc/42/11851.md?p=5) of the Institute, in coordination with the [Director](/usc/42/11851.md?p=5) of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, shall expand and intensify the [programs](/usc/42/274l–1.md?p=4) of such Institutes with respect to research and related activities concerning juvenile arthritis and related conditions.
- (b) **Coordination—** The [Directors](/usc/42/11851.md?p=5) referred to in [subsection (a)](#a) shall jointly coordinate the [programs](/usc/42/274l–1.md?p=4) referred to in such subsection and consult with the Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Diseases Interagency Coordinating Committee.
