# §285a. National Cancer Program


The National Cancer [Program](/usc/42/274l–1.md?p=4) shall consist of (1) an expanded, intensified, and coordinated cancer research [program](/usc/42/274l–1.md?p=4) encompassing the research [programs](/usc/42/274l–1.md?p=4) conducted and supported by the Institute and the related research [programs](/usc/42/274l–1.md?p=4) of the other national research institutes, including an expanded and intensified research [program](/usc/42/274l–1.md?p=4) for the prevention of cancer caused by occupational or environmental exposure to carcinogens, and (2) the other [programs](/usc/42/274l–1.md?p=4) and activities of the Institute.
