# §285a–11b. Best practices for long-term follow-up services for pediatric cancer survivors


The [Secretary](/usc/42/201.md?p=c) of Health and Human [Services](/usc/42/201.md?p=a) may facilitate the identification of best [practices](/usc/42/17061.md?p=19) for childhood and [adolescent](/usc/42/300z–1.md?p=a-9) cancer survivorship care, and, as appropriate, may consult with individuals who have expertise in late effects of disease and [treatment](/usc/42/11851.md?p=11) of childhood and [adolescent](/usc/42/300z–1.md?p=a-9) cancers, which may include—

- (1) oncologists, which may include pediatric oncologists;
- (2) primary care [providers](/usc/42/299b–21.md?p=8) engaged in survivorship care;
- (3) survivors of childhood and [adolescent](/usc/42/300z–1.md?p=a-9) cancer;
- (4) parents of children and [adolescents](/usc/42/300z–1.md?p=a-9) who have been diagnosed with and treated for cancer and parents of long-term survivors;
- (5) nurses and social workers;
- (6) mental health professionals;
- (7) allied health professionals, including physical therapists and occupational therapists; and
- (8) others, as the [Secretary](/usc/42/201.md?p=c) determines appropriate.
