# §280l–1. National worksite health policies and programs study

- (a) **In general—** In order to assess, analyze, and monitor over time data about workplace policies and [programs](/usc/42/274l–1.md?p=4), and to develop instruments to assess and evaluate comprehensive workplace chronic disease prevention and health promotion [programs](/usc/42/274l–1.md?p=4), policies and [practices](/usc/42/17061.md?p=19), not later than 2 years after March 23, 2010, and at regular intervals (to be determined by the [Director](/usc/42/11851.md?p=5)) thereafter, the [Director](/usc/42/11851.md?p=5) shall conduct a national worksite health policies and [programs](/usc/42/274l–1.md?p=4) survey to assess [employer](/usc/42/300gg–91.md?p=d-6)-based health policies and [programs](/usc/42/274l–1.md?p=4).
- (b) **Report—** Upon the completion of each study under [subsection (a)](#a), the [Director](/usc/42/11851.md?p=5) shall submit to Congress a report that includes the recommendations of the [Director](/usc/42/11851.md?p=5) for the implementation of effective [employer](/usc/42/300gg–91.md?p=d-6)-based health policies and [programs](/usc/42/274l–1.md?p=4).
