# §263a–6. Fees


The [Secretary](/usc/42/201.md?p=c) may require the payment of fees for the purpose of, and in an amount sufficient to cover the cost of, administering sections [263a–1](/usc/42/263a–1.md) to [263a–7](/usc/42/263a–7.md) of this title. A [State](/usc/42/201.md?p=f) operating a [program](/usc/42/274l–1.md?p=4) under [section 263a–2 of this title](/usc/42/263a–2.md) may require the payment of fees for the purpose of, and in an amount sufficient to cover the costs of, administering its [program](/usc/42/274l–1.md?p=4).
