# §2280. Injunction proceedings


Whenever in the judgment of the [Commission](/usc/42/2014.md?p=f) any [person](/usc/42/2014.md?p=s) has engaged or is about to engage in any acts or [practices](/usc/42/17061.md?p=19) which constitute or will constitute a [violation](/usc/42/2000e–16a.md?p=c) of any provision of this chapter, or any regulation or order issued thereunder, the Attorney General on behalf of the [United States](/usc/42/2014.md?p=bb) may make application to the appropriate court for an order enjoining such acts or [practices](/usc/42/17061.md?p=19), or for an order enforcing compliance with such provision, and upon a showing by the [Commission](/usc/42/2014.md?p=f) that such [person](/usc/42/2014.md?p=s) has engaged or is about to engage in any such acts or [practices](/usc/42/17061.md?p=19), a permanent or temporary injunction, restraining order, or other order may be granted.
