# §217a–1. Advisory committees; prohibition of consideration of political affiliations


All appointments to [advisory committees](/usc/42/17061.md?p=2) established to assist in implementing the Public Health Service Act [[42 U.S.C. 201](/usc/42/201.md) et seq.],[^1] and the Comprehensive Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism Prevention, [Treatment](/usc/42/11851.md?p=11), and Rehabilitation Act of 1970 [[42 U.S.C. 4541](/usc/42/4541.md) et seq.], shall be made without regard to political affiliation.
