# §17255. Safety research

- (a) **Program—** The [Administrator](/usc/42/4005.md?p=1) of the Environmental Protection [Agency](/usc/42/8262.md?p=1) shall conduct a research [program](/usc/42/17151.md?p=5) to address public health, safety, and environmental impacts that may be associated with capture, injection, and sequestration of greenhouse gases in geologic reservoirs.
- (b) **Authorization of appropriations—** There are authorized to be appropriated for carrying out this section $5,000,000 for each fiscal year.
